Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers might already have had his free agency plans disrupted with teams reportedly being extremely impressed with the young quarterbacks set to enter the league through this year's NFL Draft.
Rodgers is looking increasingly likely to leave Green Bay - the team he has spent the last 18 years with - with both sides dropping hints on potentially being ready to move on. For Rodgers, he is now in the final years of his Hall of Fame career, and may believe he cannot win another Super Bowl with the team, having a better chance to do so elsewhere.
As for the team, the Packers sprung a surprise in 2020 when they decided to draft Rodgers' apparent replacement in first-round pick Jordan Love, however, he has not yet seen regular game-time, with Rodgers winning the MVP in 2020 and 2021 in response to that selection.
Now though, the Packers feel that they must see what they have in Love, before potentially losing him as a free agent next summer without giving him a fair chance of playing regular games. As well as this, it is likely the last year that they could trade Rodgers for a huge haul, with teams such as the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers potentially showing interest.
However, Rodgers' field of teams might already be decreasing, after this past week's NFL Scouting Combine. Over the last few days, hundreds of draft prospects were in Indianapolis to practice, measure and interview with teams ahead of the NFL Draft in April.
And during the week, four quarterbacks stole the show. This could see certain teams opt to go the draft route, rather than giving up a haul of picks to trade for 39-year-old Rodgers, with the Raiders already reportedly out of the running.
Here, Mirror Sport takes a look at four names who are set to compete for starting spots right away, and may shorten Rodgers' interested field.
Bryce Young
The quarterback who many project to the first off the board in April's draft answered all of his critics - without throwing a pass or going through any drills. Seen as the all-round most complete quarterback in the draft, Young won a Heisman Trophy in 2021 and showed consistency throughout his two years as a starter.
The big worry about Young had been his size, but after weighing in at 204lbs (with some expecting him to be at 185lbs) and standing at 5'10, Young is a similar build to that of Kyler Murray, who was drafted with the first overall pick in 2019.
He still might be the smallest quarterback in NFL history, but at least teams have a reference point to look at on how he could succeed.
Anthony Richardson
After this past week, Florida's Anthony Richardson has gone from consensus fourth-best prospect to potentially being the best - putting together one of the best combine workouts in quarterback history.
Having been compared to Cam Newton, Richardson was faster than the former MVP and Chicago's Justin Fields, another quarterback he has been likened to, awhile also wowing with his huge arm.
Richardson was also said to have the best interviews when speaking to teams, blowing many away with his understanding of the game, while also playing in an NFL-style offense in Florida.
CJ Stroud
Quoted by NFL insider Daniel Jeremiah as having 'one of the best throwing sessions ever seen', Stroud proved why he is the best pure-passer in the draft.
His ability to throw with touch and accuracy, even when the play breaks down and he's on the move, answered any questions scouts had about his mobility.
His final college game against Georgia has been described as one of the best college quarterback performances in years.
Will Levis
Frequently compared to both Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers, the Kentucky quarterback dominated all of his drills at the combine and showed he has the strongest arm, while maintaining his accuracy.
Levis has already played under an NFL offensive coordinator, and is truly the only quarterback in the class to have played and understands NFL-passing concepts.
As well as possessing ungodly throwing power, Levis showed he is just as capable on the move, running over defenders in the open field.
The Raiders, Panthers, Seahawks, Texans, Colts and Falcons are all said to be looking for a quarterback this off-season, and all have top 10 picks in the quarterback-heavy class.
