NFL Coach Of The Year Odds: Tomlin Favored To Win The Award

NFL head coaches are crucial to a team’s success. Each week, they devise a game plan and scheme to defeat their opponent.

Coaching in the NFL matters more than any other sport.

Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season as the head coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tomlin has been the head coach for the Steelers for 18 years.

Below, we look at the top five favorites to win the NFL Coach of the Year award and predict which coach will win the award.

Mike Tomlin (+225)

Mike Tomlin is currently the favorite to win the NFL Coach of the Year award. He has the Pittsburgh Steelers riding high and first in the AFC North. Entering the season, nobody gave the Steelers a chance to win the division. However, Tomlin has Pittsburgh in first in the division after a major victory over the Baltimore Ravens in week 11. The schedule is daunting for the Steelers but if they can remain first in the division, this will be Tomlin’s best season since winning the Super Bowl.

Dan Campbell (+350)

Dan Campbell is the second favorite to win the NFL Coach of the Year award. Campbell has the Lions in first in the NFC. Detroit is looking like the best team in the NFL and is the favorite to win the Super Bowl. Detroit had high expectations entering the season and they are living up to those expectations and exceeding them. Campbell has done a fantastic job as Detroit’s head coach.

Kevin O’Connell (+400)

Kevin O’Connell is the third favorite to win the NFL Coach of the Year award. Minnesota was not expected to be a threat in the NFC North or the NFC with Sam Darnold under center. However, O’Connell has done an excellent job with calling plays and helping the Vikings have an 8-2 record. Minnesota has exceeded all expectations thus far and is poised to make the playoffs. O’Connell has done a superb job getting the Vikings to play well this season. Minnesota is one of the biggest surprises this season and O’Connell is a big reason for their success.

Jim Harbaugh (+450)

Jim Harbaugh is the fourth favorite to win the NFL Coach of the Year award. Harbaugh took over from Brandon Staley as the Los Angeles Chargers head coach. With a worse roster than Staley’s, Harbaugh has the Chargers thriving and in a position to make the playoffs. Harbaugh is proving just how critical it is for a team to have a good head coach. The Chargers are 7-3 and in fifth in the AFC. Herbert is playing well and their defense has allowed more than 20 points just once this season. Harbaugh deserves a ton of credit for the Chargers’ success this season.

Jonathan Gannon (+500)

Jonathan Gannon is the fifth favorite to win the NFL Coach of the Year award. Gannon has the Arizona Cardinals first in the NFC West and playing well. They were on a four-game winning streak before their week 11 bye. Arizona was expected to finish last in the NFC West but they are proving everyone wrong. Gannon has done a great job as Arizona’s head coach and they are exceeding everyone’s expectations.

Which NFL Head Coach Will Win Coach Of The Year?

Mike Tomlin is the current favorite to win the NFL Coach of the Year award.

Pittsburgh has a tough schedule for the rest of the season but they are playing very well. The Steelers are in first place in the AFC North, something not many thought would be the case before the season. The Steelers were expected to finish last in the division.

However, Tomlin has them playing well, winning five straight games. The Steelers are coming off a major week 11 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Considering how challenging their schedule is, and how the Steelers have exceeded all expectations thus far, if Pittsburgh winds up winning the AFC North, Mike Tomlin will win the NFL Coach of the Year award.
