Super Wild Card weekend was interesting.
The NFC matchups were mostly competitive but didn’t pack much suspense as the clock ticked into the third and fourth quarters. As a result, only Minnesota failed to cover against New York, while San Francisco-Seattle and Dallas-Tampa Bay ended in blowout wins for the favorites.
What happened in the AFC was a different story. Each of the three games was decided by one possession with all three home teams narrowly advancing.
Now, the Divisional Round is here and each gets another chance to inch closer to a championship.
From worst to first, here are the title odds for the eight remaining playoff teams.
New York Giants (+2500)
Some saw Sunday’s win over the Vikings as a surprise and some didn’t. The Giants, in my opinion, were the better team and had a chip on their shoulder. Let’s see if they can carry it into this weekend against their division rivals.
Jacksonville Jaguars (+2500)
Dallas Cowboys (+900)
Did anyone see that coming from the Cowboys on Monday night? Dak Prescott was spectacular, the defense locked down the Bucs’ offense and there was no guessing which team would come out on top after the first couple of drives. Dallas’ path to a Super Bowl win gets tougher this weekend when it faces the star-studded San Francisco 49ers.
Cincinnati Bengals (+800)
Ravens-Bengals was a nasty, AFC North-style of a football game. Cincy came out on top but lost another lineman in the process. Suddenly, having to go through the conference’s two highest seeds while having a below-average offensive line in order to get to the Super Bowl, the Bengals’ path to a title feels a lot like last postseason’s.
Philadelphia Eagles (+500)
The NFL’s best regular-season team from start to finish, in the league’s toughest division, has the fourth-best odds to win the Super Bowl? Seems weird. Now healthy, I’m sure Jalen Hurts and Co. are rested and ready to prove that the regular season wasn’t a fluke. If you trust that it was real, a $100 bet to win $500 is something to think about.
San Francisco 49ers (+400)
The offense is still rollin’, the defense is still clamping down and San Francisco looks like the real deal. The Niners haven’t lost a football game since October and seem to be playing the best football of the remaining playoff teams.
Buffalo Bills (+325)
It wasn’t pretty vs. a gritty, undermanned Miami Dolphins team, but the Bills got the job done. No doubt they’ll be plugged in for their game Sunday against the Bengals. Their odds to win the Super Bowl are short, and will only grown shorter if they get past Cincy.
Kansas City Chiefs (+290)
After failing to reach the Super Bowl last season for the first time since 2019, you better believe that the Chiefs are ready to start their postseason. They’re BetMGM’s favorite to win it all, and with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Ried on their side, how could they not be?
