When it comes to smart analysis, former NFL general manager Louis Riddick is one of the best. His ability to evaluate talent is among the best of any NFL pundit so when he talks up a player, we listen.
Riddick spoke to the media on Friday at the Pitt kickoff luncheon and he had some excellent positive comments about Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett.
“He [Pickett] will advance cerebrally, mentally because that’s what happens between year one and two when you’re able to back off and break down your game, and he’s has done that.”
Pickett was practically perfect in the Steelers preseason. He played five total drives over the three games and the Steelers offense scored a touchdown on all five drives.
The only question is how much of what we saw in the preseason will carry over to the regular season. Pittsburgh looked unbeatable thanks in large part to the play of Pickett.
