Neymar reportedly held a secret party at his sister’s house in Sao Paulo in the aftermath of Brazil’s exit from the World Cup.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar has admitted he is thinking about quitting international football following his nation’s shattering exit from the World Cup at the hands of Croatia in last week’s quarter-final matchup.
Neymar scored for Tite’s side in extra time of the tense last-eight clash and had looked set to seal his side’s place in the semi-final of the competition. However, Croatia hit back as Bruno Petkovic levelled the score with four minutes remaining of extra time before they went on to win 4-2 in the penalty shootout to book a last-four clash against Argentina.
Neymar said in the aftermath of that defeat: “I want to take time to think about the national team and think about what I want for myself. I am not closing the door on the national team, but I am not saying 100 per cent either that I will come back.
“I feel really bad at this moment. It is hard to take in everything that has gone on. It seems like a nightmare. I just can’t believe what has happened. I will now have to take comfort from my family - but this defeat will hurt for a long time.”
Days later, the player himself admitted to being “completely dejected”, with Brazil national team chiefs set to allow him to spend several months away from their set-up in order to emotionally recover and refocus following the painful World Cup exit.

A report from Folha de Sao Paulo has outlined that ‘just hours after making those comments’, Neymar hosted a party at his sister’s house in the city. Brazil teammate and Manchester United forward Antony was among those in attendance alongside other notable names, including singer Joao Gomes.
The report claims that Neymar had attempted to make the event as discreet as possible by minimising its exposure in a bid to avoid leaks to the media. However, this was unsuccessful, with several images of the event coming to light.
Neymar faced a degree of criticism after not being one of Brazil’s four penalty takers in their shootout defeat by Croatia. The PSG star had been set to take his nation’s fifth penalty in the shootout but unsuccessful attempts from Rodrygo and Marquinhos ensured he did not have the chance to step up from 12 yards.
