BRAVE DISPLAY looks good under a penalty for a course-and-distance win nine days ago as he takes on 11 rivals for Wolverhampton’s Spreadex Sports £300 Spread Betting Cashback Handicap (7.30).
The ex-Irish eight-year-old hasn’t always impressed with his attitude but the Phil McEntee trainee has consented to put his best foot forward when partnered by Kevin Stott on his last two starts.
Nine days before Christmas, Brave Display had Stott on board for a close third to Martin’s Brig at Southwell.
And five days on he capitalised on the same British Horseracing Authority rating of 46 to beat the reopposing Desert Dream by two and a quarter lengths over seven furlongs at Dunstall Park.
The runner-up didn’t get the breaks that day but will do well to turn things round with Brave Display, who is expected to make light of the 4lb extra to go in again.
At Haydock, STAINSBY GIRL is taken to continue her winning run by racking up a four-timer in the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Handicap Hurdle (2.30).
Shirocco’s daughter marked her first start for Nick Alexander with a three-and-three-quarter-length score over course and distance last month and a 5lb rise in the weights shouldn’t prevent another good account.
