FLINT HILL is fancied to boost an already impressive record at Pontefract as he takes on seven rivals for the Tony Bethell Memorial Handicap (8.30) at the West Yorkshire track this evening.
After four visits to Pontefract, the Ruth Jefferson-trained son of Excelebration has yet to finish out of the frame, amassing two wins, a close second and a fourth.
Flint Hill made his return action with a fourth at Doncaster in March, and was flying high when ninth of 17 in a two-mile handicap at York last month.
That run came in a 0-80 contest, and this 0-75 is less competitive. What’s more, Graham Lee’s mount has now dropped to a British Horseracing Authority mark of 70 – exactly the rating from which he scored over this course and distance last September.
At Windsor, ANGLE LAND has plenty going for him in the opening Follow @Attheraces On Twitter Handicap (5.05).
A course-and-distance victor at two, Robert Cowell’s speedster ran above his odds with a 40-1 second to Kape Moss at Goodwood 16 days ago.
Angle Land, who goes well with cut in the ground, competes from the same mark of 75 here, and gets the vote to go one better.
