Newly surfaced footage puts Florida GOP candidate at deadly Charlottesville rally: report

  • Footage and photos show Rawson arriving at the Charlottesville rally and standing near James Alex Fields Jr., who later carried out a fatal car attack on counter-protesters.
  • Rawson defended his participation by framing it as activism to protect historical Confederate monuments and stated his involvement with the group spanned from 2013 to 2016.
  • Rawson recently won the Republican primary for Florida House District 10 and will face Democrat Merrillee Malwitz-Jipson in the November election.
  • Malwitz-Jipson called the report's findings extremely alarming and urged voters to reject Rawson at the ballot box.
