Newell's Old Boys have posted a heartfelt message following the news that Leeds United had sacked Marcelo Bielsa.
The club confirmed in a statement that they had parted company with 66-year-old after three-and-a-half years.
After joining the Whites in June 2018, Bielsa totally transformed Leeds on and off the pitch and guided them back to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years in his second season.
However, results haven't gone the Whites' way this campaign, winning five times in 25 top-flight matches which has inevitably led to Bielsa's departure.
There's no doubt the 66-year-old will go down as one of Leeds' greatest managers in recent history and he is being fondly remembered on social media for the work he did at Elland Road.
And the first club who Bielsa managed during his career, Newell's Old Boys, have shared a message on their English Twitter account to highlight the relationship between the clubs.
A statement read: "The departure of Marcelo Bielsa from Leeds United Football Club is a bittersweet moment for many. We have seen first half how many Leeds fans have followed the same path as us, and also fans of Chile, Athletic and Marseille, in becoming disciples of the man as we call "El Loco".
"His personality, tactical knowledge, intelligence, coaching methods, man management and dedication to a just and fair society allowed Leeds fans to discover what fans of Newell's have known for decade. And it is beautiful.
"As Leeds fans became enamoured with Marcelo, they also opened their hearts to our club, Newell's Old Boys. For this,m we are eternally grateful. The last 3 and a half years have seen Bielsa build a bridge between our clubs and our cities. It is a bridge that simply can't be burnt overnight.
"We would like to thank the fans of Leeds United for their interest, support, questions and intrigue around the club where Marcelo made his name.
"Special thanks to those who came to see us in Rosario and to those who bought our shirt. Newell's will always have a special relationship with Bielsa but your club will go down in history as where Marcelo did some of his finish work and enjoyed some of his happiest times, choosing to stay at Leeds for longer than he's ever stayed at a club before, including ours. The popularity and success of this particular Twitter account was built on relationship between Leeds fans, Bielsa and Newell's and we hope that you'll still keep an eye out for our results.
"No matter what happens next, fans of Leeds United are always welcome at the Estadio Marcelo Bielsa in Rosario. You might say that our two clubs will forever be bound by Bielsa."
