Nottingham Forest make their Premier League return on today after 23 years away from the top flight and face an opening trip to Newcastle United.
Head coach Steve Cooper has a new-look Forest side to select from after making 12 summer signings including forward options Jesse Lingard, and record-signing Taiwo Awoniyi. The likes of Brennan Johnson and Sam Surridge will be competing for starting spots with the new arrivals.
Nigerian forward Awoniyi, who signed for for a record fee of over £17 million from Union Berlin, may have to wait for his chance and was only on the bench against Valencia in the final pre-season friendly as he adapts to a new league.

While the summer transfer market continues all eyes will be on St. James' Park this afternoon as Forest bid for a perfect Premier League return. They face a Newcastle side who were steered away from relegation danger last season by head coach Eddie Howe.
Newcastle under their new owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, have been linked with a host of signings this summer but have made just three in goalkeeper Nick Pope along with defenders Sven Botman and Matt Targett.
The hosts have a poor record on the opening day of the season picking up just seven points from their previous ten opening games.
