Newcastle United may have pipped Brighton to the Championship title in 2017 but ever since then the Seagulls have had the edge over the black and whites. Not only have United failed to win a fixture against the South Coast side at home but they have also failed to score a goal since promotion five years ago.
Two 0-0 draws since then has been the best its got for Newcastle fans and there's plenty of room for improvement. Of course, Eddie Howe was a mere spectator when the two teams met last at the Amex Stadium in November and since then the head coach has been able to put his own stamp on things on Tyneside, meaning confidence is flowing going into the clash on Saturday.
Lee Ryder's prediction
Like the team on the field, I'm on a roll off it in terms of predictions after forecasting a draw at West Ham and that win over Brentford last weekend. Can we all keep this going?
Well I'm certainly confident going into this one that Newcastle can secure another Premier League victory although I expect it to be a bit tighter than last weekend. Here's to that narrow victory and a positive weekend for the Magpies.
