A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Wednesday, 27 April.
Newcastle plotting Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg move after Tottenham name price
The Mirror claims Newcastle United are eyeing a summer transfer swoop for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Dane has been a mainstay in Spurs midfield this season and Antonio Conte said the midfielder had done a "fantastic job."
However, Conte is understood to want to bring in five or six players to allow Tottenham to challenge for the Premier League title, and Hojbjerg could be one of those who leaves Spurs this summer. It's reported than Daniel Levy will ask for £30million for the defensive minded midfielder.
Former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is another interested party, after signing the Denmark international for £15million from Southampton in 2020 on a five-year-deal. Hojbjerg has given no indication he wants to leave the club and recently hailed Conte as a "special coach."
Magpies make approach for Juventus forward
According to to Alfredo Pedulla, Newcastle United are among those to have made contact with Paulo Dybala over a potential move to Tyneside. The Argentine international looks set to leave Juventus at the end of the season with Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid also among potential suitors.
Barcelona appears the most likely destination for Dybala, with Xavi in the midst of rebuilding the La Liga giant. The 28-year-old looks set to take his time and assess the offers put in front of him at the end of the season.
Dybala can operate as an attacking midfielder or up front, but is currently on a reported £220,000 per week contract with the Old Lady and it remains to be seen whether Newcastle would even entertain those figures.
