Your Newcastle United transfer round-up for Tuesday, July 26.
Everton want Broja
iNews claim Everton are “ready” to pounce on a move to sign Chelsea outcast Armando Broja. Newcastle , Southampton and West Ham United had been linked with the 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at the Saints.
Signing Broja would raise questions over Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future at Goodison Park. Both strikers are of a similar ilk, with previous reports suggesting the latter could be a Toon target.

It is unclear whether Everton are interested in a loan move for Broja. Chelsea are understood to have slapped a hefty price tag on the Albanian international - despite only ever making one first-team appearance.
Depay for £17m
Newcastle are ready to meet Barcelona’s £17million asking price for Memphis Depay, according to Spanish outlet Sport. Several new arrivals at the Nou Camp means the Dutchman faces a bleak season on the sidelines.
Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha have arrived, linking up with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who signed in January. Ousmane Dembele also penned a fresh deal and Ansu Fati is billed as a future La Liga superstar - giving Xavi plenty of attacking options.
Depay would fit the bill for the profile of player the new regime at St James’ Park want. With attacking reinforcements now the focus, would this be a good move?
Hudson-Odoi interest ‘real’
CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed Newcastle are interested in Callum Hudson-Odoi. Similar to Depay, new arrivals at Stamford Bridge place his Blues’ future under threat.
The England international started just 11 Premier League games in 2021-22 - a figure that will likely decrease now Chelsea have signed Raheem Sterling. Jacobs believes Hudson-Odoi would be a “great” signing for the Magpies.
“Hudson-Odoi, by the way, would be a great signing for a club like Newcastle United,” he told the NUFC Matters podcast. “At the moment, I think Chelsea are just assessing his future and Newcastle haven’t made any kind of formal move at all.
“The interest I think is real there on Newcastle’s part, though, and the thing with Hudson-Odoi is that he’s only just back to full fitness, so it’s going to take quite a lot to persuade Chelsea to sell him to anybody.”
