Newcastle United transfer rumours as Magpies set to 'push ahead' for Scott McTominay deal

Here are your Newcastle United transfer rumours and gossip on Thursday, April 27.

Newcastle United preparing to 'push ahead' for Scott McTominay summer deal

Newcastle United are expecting to push ahead with their opportunity to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United as the summer transfer window begins to near.

The Scotland international has been in fine form over the past few months, helping Man United in their Carabao Cup trophy win over the Magpies back in February.

McTominay has been linked with a move to Newcastle in recent weeks though despite having two years left on his contract at Old Trafford.

According to Football Insider, the star is set to quit Erik ten Hag's side if he's set to fall further down his pecking order behind the likes of Casemiro, Marcel Sabitzer and Fred.

Newcastle United make 'first move' for Napoli star

Newcastle United have reportedly 'already made the first moves' in order to try and coax Napoli star Piotr Zielinski to St. James' Park in the summer transfer window.

The Polish international's contract with the Serie A side runs out next year but it appears as though he could be on an early move to England after his impressive displays for Napoli this season.

Italian outlet Spazio Napoli believes that a move to the Premier League is an attractive proposition to the 28-year-old, who has already netted seven times alongside 10 assists.

Whilst there's no price tag directly mentioned, it is reported that Newcastle aren't the only team interested in Zielinski, with other European competition expected after his performances this season.
