Here are the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Saturday, 2 July 2022.
PSV star eyed
Newcastle United are among a host of Premier League clubs keeping tabs on PSV winger Noni Madueke. That is according to 90min.com, who claim Tottenham, Wolves, Everton, Leicester City and Leeds United are also keen on the young winger, who could leave PSV this summer.
Madueke is an England U21 international and spent time in Spurs’ academy as a youngster. He has scored 18 goals and provided 14 assists in 70 appearances for the Dutch side, but spent a large part of last season on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Eriksen offered deal
Newcastle United have offered a deal to Christian Eriksen with his deal having expired at Brentford. That is according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who claims that while there is a chance he remains with the Bees, Newcastle are among the clubs to have made a play to sign him.

Crook believes that Manchester United are currently the favourites for the Denmark international, but also told GiveMeSport a decision has not yet been made. He said: “There’s still a chance he could stay at Brentford, but I think he wants to play as high level as possible. I was told that Newcastle also made an offer. I think West Ham were at the table as well.
“Last I heard, [Man] United were confident, but ultimately it’s going to come down to Christian Eriksen.”
Newcastle keen on Sochaux striker
Newcastle United are reportedly keen on a move for Sochaux forward Alan Virginius, according to Le10Sport. The Magpies had earmarked Stade Reims’ Hugo Ekitike as their number one attacking target but a deal has stalled in recent weeks.
Sochaux are said to be open to selling Virginius this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his current contract at the Ligue 2 side. Newcastle could face competition from Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge for the 19-year-old.
