That is according to the Daily Star, who claim that the Magpies have held a 'long-running interest' in the Crystal Palace winger. However, West Ham are hopeful of luring Zaha to the London Stadium by offering him the prospect of staying in the capital.
He could still extend his contract at Palace, although the Ivory Coast international is open to a move away from Selhurst Park.
Zaha looks set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a groin injury during Palace's 2-1 win over Leicester City last weekend. The 30-year-old has scored 89 goals and contributed 76 assists in 455 appearances during two separate spells at Palace, including six goals and three assists this term.

Ugarte also has a contract which runs until the summer of 2026, which means any interested parties will need to table a big offer to prise him away from Lisbon.
The 21-year-old landed in Europe from Uruguayan outfit Fenix in 2020, He had a short spell at fellow Portuguese club Famalicao, before switching to Sporting in the summer of 2021.
