Lyon president drops Lucas Paqueta claims
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed the club have received offers for Brazilian maestro Lucas Paqueta. The 24-year-old has been subject to plenty of transfer interest this summer, with Newcastle United said to be one of his strongest admirers.
Arsenal are another Premier League side reportedly interested in the Brazilian playmaker who has impressed for Lyon since his arrival from AC Milan back in 2020.
“There are proposals for him," Aulas recently told reporters. “There are certain players who can feel complete in the project, and others who don't. Economically, we have the means to pursue our ideas and objectives.”
However, the Lyon president was tight lipped on who had made an offer for the midfielder. What is certain though is Paqueta won't come cheap. His deal with Lyon runs till 2025, meaning the French side will be able to demand a hefty fee should anyone want to secure the Brazilan's services.

Bacary Sagna links Allan Saint-Maximin to former club Arsenal
Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has revealed he would love to see Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin turning out for the Gunners.
Unplayable on his day, Saint-Maximin gave Arsenal defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares a torrid time when Newcastle faced off against the Gunners back in May, which resulted in a 2-0 win for the Magpies.
And Sagna believes the 25-year-old would be able to "electrify" the Emirates.
“I really like Allan Saint-Maximin a lot,” he told Lord Ping. “I love the way he plays, with so many tricks and skills. He is a nightmare for any defender.
“He is a player that can electrify a match, a stadium and make the difference. I would love to see him wearing an Arsenal shirt. He’s one player I really like, but I’m not sure Arsenal could sign him because he would want to play every game.”
Newcastle United offered chance to sign Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata
Newcastle United have been offered the chance to renew their interest in Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata. The Magpies were said to be interested in the Colombian striker back in January when they were looking to add some firepower to their attack, but were quoted a whopping £35m fee for a loan-to-buy deal by Atalanta.
However, the Express reports Newcastle have been offered the striker at a cut rate price of £15m this summer. The 31-year-old scored 13 goals in 32 games last term for the Serie A side and could be an intriguing option for Newcastle.
