James Maddison told he would be mad to reject Newcastle United
Former West Ham United striker Frank McAvennie says James Maddison would be mad to turn down a move to Newcastle United. Eddie Howe's side made two advances to sign the Foxes playmaker in the summer transfer window. but Leicester turned down any bids, with Manchester City now reportedly in the race to sign him.
McAvennie told Football Insider: “I would go to Newcastle. He’d play all the time, they are on a journey. I think they will make Europe this year that is for sure.
“They did not know if they were going to be in the league last year. I did not think they would beat Man United but it is the first step, they have got to a final.
“It is a journey I think it would be mad not to go there. He would love it there as well. They are going to buy again and they are going to be better and better and it will not be long before they win a cup.“

Marcos Asensio back on the Magpies radar
According to Fichajes in Spain, Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Asensio is one of three 'clear objectives' for Newcastle United this summer. Eddie Howe's side are understood to want to bolster their midfield options in the upcoming transfer market and were linked with a move for the Spanish playmaker in the summer.
The report claims his contract renewal at Real Madrid ‘up in the air’, there’s the belief he could ‘try his luck’ in England. Asensio is said to want an improved contract and guaranteed minutes at his next club.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at the Bernabeu this summer.
