Newcastle United transfer odds, including Jesse Lingard, Diego Carlos and Dele Alli

The rejuvenation of the Newcastle United squad is well underway following the additions of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood.

After the takeover of the club back in October, investment in the playing squad was expected and the process of moulding the squad in the image of head coach Eddie Howe is now ongoing.

The Magpies have been linked with a host of names, some of which have been reported as potential targets since before the current window opened.

ChronicleLive have taken a look at the betting odds to see how likely the bookmakers deem Newcastle to recruit reported targets:

Jesse Lingard - 2/5

Lingard is struggling for game time at Manchester United and a move away from Old Trafford would not come as a shock.

With Sky Bet, Newcastle are 2/5 to sign him in the current window and ChronicleLive understands the Magpies are willing to fork out £4m as a loan fee to take the 29-year-old until the end of the season. But developments last night suggest that might not enough for Man. United to green-light the move.

Diego Carlos - 4/6

According to Mail Online, Newcastle have been told to stump up £40m for the services of defender Diego Carlos but the Magpies are still favourites to sign him with Sky Bet.

He is listed as 4/6 to be a Newcastle player after the end of the window, putting the Magpies ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who are listed as 5/2 to sign him this month.

Dele Alli - Evens

The Guardian have suggested Newcastle could turn their attention to Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli if a deal cannot be struck for Lingard.

Alli was regarded as one of the Premier League's most exciting talents but has struggled with form and Sky Bet have listed the 25-year-old as evens to be donning black and white when February begins.

Todd Cantwell - Evens

Cantwell is also evens to arrive at St James' Park before January comes to an end and would not only strengthen the Magpies, but weaken a rival in the battle for survival too.

The 23-year-old has been on the books at Norwich City since under-10 level but has been linked with a move to Tyneside by Sky Sports.

Ben Brereton Diaz - 5/1

As a result of his exploits in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers, and on the international stage with Chile, Brereton Diaz is rarely absent from headlines linking him with a move.

Newcastle are among the clubs that have been linked with a swoop for the former Nottingham Forest forward and Sky Bet have recently shortened his odds from 8/1 to 5/1 to swap Blackburn for the Magpies before the window shuts.

All odds are provided by Oddschecker and are correct as of 26/1/22.
