Newcastle United told to steer clear of Nathan Ake signing due to '£50m' price tag

Newcastle United have been told to look elsewhere in their search for a new centre back this summer, with one former player citing the proposed £50m fee for Nathan Ake as 'too much'.

Jose Enrique, who turned out for the Magpies 128 times between 2007-2011 has insisted the Netherlands international is not currently worth the current transfer value Manchester City have placed on their defender.

Having helped Pep Guardiola's side retain the Premier League title just weeks ago, Ake's future has been brought into question given the former Cherries man only started a mere 10 domestic games last season.
