Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe opted against handing Joelinton a place in his starting line-up for the clash against Man United.
Joelinton missed out as Howe kept faith with the team that beat Nottingham Forest with fit-again Anthony Gordon also named alongside the Brazilian on the bench. Newcastle went into the game with Man United knowing they could jump into third place in the Premier League table with three points.

Bruno Guimarares, Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock continue to partol the midfield. And Matt Targett is still second choice to Dan Burn at left-back.
