Newcastle United supporters have taken a moment to take stock of the 'mental' transfer window so far. The Magpies have so far brought in three players; Matt Targett, Nick Pope and Sven Botman to bolster Eddie Howe's defence.
January and the current transfer window are a far cry away from last year's dismal window, with Newcastle scraping round for deals before Joe Willock became the only signing of the summer. The poor window almost foreshadowed what was on the horizon.
It took the Magpies until December to win their first game in the Premier League before Howe masterminded a survival bid - which no side in history has been able to replicate. However, for black and white fans, they'll be hoping for more positive chapters to be written into the history books.

Botman's arrival as the most expensive defender in Newcastle's history is the statement signing for the Toon so far this summer and the Toon Army have been left impressed by their business so far. Here's what they had to say on social media after Botman's move was made official.
@LaneHusband1 said: "In 8 months we've got an England international GK, England international RB with a La Liga title, WC SF, Euro final with Champions League experience, a Brazil international, a top-drawer LB, New Zealand's main CF and a Ligue 1 winner who's played in the Champions League & is a Dutch international, and BDB. Mental."
@fewpints tweeted: "Best day of my life."
@JamesRo52782724 said: "Just hope fans give him time. Wenger used to reckon it takes a couple of seasons for a central defender to fully reach their potential in the Premier League."
@Anagram_60 said: "And that’s what scares the other teams in the Premier League our club having ambition again because they all remember how good Newcastle were in the 90s & early 00s before Mike Ashley bought our club."
@EllieCowzer tweeted: "We are the best United in the league!"
@NUFCCUTHY said: "Welcome to the club Sven! Can’t wait to see you boss our defence for the next five years!!"
