Alexander Isak has thanked Eddie Howe for allowing him to show his versatility with Newcastle United.
The Sweden star netted twice in the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest to take his tally for the season to six but he played as both a centre-forward and wide on the left at the City Ground. It was his switch to the left-hand side of the field by Howe that allowed him to volley home the equaliser against Forest.
The striker said: "I appreciate from the gaffer that he gives me that feeling. I know that I have a wide game and I can do different things.

"Not only just being in the box and trying to score, but I really like that he sees that (versatility) and he looks to use my skills in the best way possible."
Isak could not have hit form at a better time for the Magpies after important goals against Wolverhampton Wanderers then at Forest last Friday night. Those two victories have put Newcastle into a commanding position in fifth with two matches in hand over Tottenham Hotspur.
Isak said: "It was very important, not only if you look at the Premier League table but also going into a break now. We left with a good feeling and feel like we are back on track and back at it.
"The last two games have been massively important for us. Now we go away, clear our heads and come back at the same level."
The month of April is likely to be the decisive month for the Magpies but Isak says Newcastle must stay cool. Isak went on: "We believe and we know that we have it in our own hands and have a good chance. We have to keep on taking it one game at a time and try to win."
