Newcastle United look to have a real gem on their hands in the form of academy prospect Lewis Miley. The 16-year-old has been impressing behind the scenes in the club's youth ranks, attracting interest from both rival sides and England bosses.
The media seems to have picked up on Miley's prospects too, with the Guardian naming the Newcastle teenager on their 'Next Generation' shortlist for 2022. Each year the organisation picks the best young prospects from each club who look set to become household names in years to come.
Jadon Sancho made the list back in 2016 while at Manchester City, Curtis Jones and Anthony Gordon were included the following year, while Jamal Musiala and Benjamin Sesko made their way into the 2020 edition.

Newcastle offered Miley and a host of other youngsters scholarships over the summer as the club look towards the future. The midfielder has attracted serious interest from other Premier League clubs but looks set to stay on Tyneside for the foreseeable.
The Durham-born star received an England's Under-17 call-up in August for clashes with Norway, Faroe Islands and Finland, scoring in the latter. Used primarily as a No 10, Miley can also play further back in midfield if needed.
He was offered a taste of a first-team matchday experience as an unused substitute against Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao before the Premier League campaign kicked off. His older brother Jamie was one of the eight young players offered a professional contract in the summer and is another who is performing well at the club.
