Kieran Trippier looks set to play a huge role for England at the 2022 Qatar World Cup next month as Gareth Southgate watches on as his right-back issues mount up. Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James have all suffered injury problems in recent days with just over one month to go until the winter showpiece.
James limped off during Chelsea 's 2-0 win over AC Milan on Tuesday, with Blues boss Graham Potter admitting it was too soon to give a full diagnosis on the full-back. Liverpool 's Alexander-Arnold has been under-fire in recent weeks and is now set to miss up to a month of football with a foot injury picked up against Arsenal on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Manchester City full-back Walker has undergone surgery on a groin injury suffered in the 6-3 defeat to Manchester United earlier in the month. Luckily for Southgate, Trippier looks to have found his best form at club level after an impressive start to the season for Newcastle.

The 32-year-old full-back was a standout performer as the Magpies made light work of Brentford on Saturday. Trippier could easily have picked up the man of the match award had it not been for Bruno Guimaraes' brace at St James' Park.
Trippier has also been impressing on the international stage with Southgate using him at both right and left-back in recent months. The former Spurs star was involved in recent Nations League games, with Southgate explaining why he was keeping Alexander-Arnold out of the side.
"The other night [against Italy], we didn't need the left-back cover. Against Germany we did because of the way we went with the team so we needed Chilly [Ben Chilwell] on the bench and we had Kieran who, at the moment, I feel his all-round game is ahead [of Alexander-Arnold]," Southgate told reporters last month.
