Newcastle United's May 6 Premier League fixture against Arsenal has been thrown up in the air following the announcement of King Charles' coronation next year.
A statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed Charles III will be crowned on May 6, meaning Newcastle game against the Gunners will likely be moved.
The statement read: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023. The coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort."

Newcastle have already seen one of their fixtures this season postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in mid-September. The Magpies were set to take on West Ham United at the London Stadium, a game which has also yet to be re-scheduled.
There has been no confirmation yet as to when that fixture will take place, nor has there been any that their clash with Arsenal on May 6 will be moved but it would be safe to assume it would be.
The Department of Media, Culture and Sport have told the Mirror that it is too early to give fans any guidance on when the games will be played but that there will be talks taking place over the next few weeks to devise a plan of action of the first weekend of May.
Eddie Howe and co will likely be hoping for a repeat of last season's St James' Park classic against the Gunners, which saw Newcastle prevent Arsenal from qualifying for the Champions League with a 2-0 win over Mikel Arteta's side.
