Bookies have priced Newcastle for a seventh-place finish in 2022/23 after the team ended this season in 11th place.
Some Newcastle United fans have talked about a cup run and a season free of the threat of relegation would be an improvement, but bookies clearly expect more than that. Perhaps some fans even more than the bookies.
At the time of writing, SkyBet have priced Manchester City at 4/7 to win the Premier League next season, having been crowned champions today. Liverpool are priced at 2/1, Chelsea at 18/1, Manchester United at 22/1, Spurs at 28/1, Arsenal at 40/1, and Newcastle are 50/1, while the next teams, Leicester City and West Ham, are both priced at 100/1.

PaddyPower have the same finishing order for the teams and the same price for Newcastle at 50/1. Coral also had the same order and same price for Newcastle.
The price for Newcastle to finish in the top four is 6/1 at SkyBet, while Manchester City are at 1/50, Liverpool are 1/10, Chelsea are 4/5, Manchester United and Spurs are 11/10, and Arsenal are 7/4. Leicester and West Ham are double the odds of Newcastle for a top four finish at 12/1.
For relegation, you need to do a fair bit of scrolling to get down to Newcastle’s odds. At SkyBet, the favourites to go down are Bournemouth on 8/11, then Fulham on 6/4, Brentford at 9/4, Leeds 11/4, while much further down the list are Newcastle, priced at 16/1, level with West Ham.
