Allan Saint-Maximin will be "back soon" after the winger missed the 2-1 FA Cup loss against Sheffield Wednesday.
Whether the French star could be involved as quickly as Tuesday night in the League Cup against Leicester City remains to be seen. But he will be desperate to be on the field as Newcastle look to erase painful memories of their defeat against the League One side by booking a place in the semi-finals of a trophy they've never won.
Saint-Maximin was down with an illness and posted a message of support via social media during the game. But Howe is keen to get him back on the field.

Howe said after the defeat at Hillsborough: "It was a huge disappointment that he did miss out. We felt this a bit of an ideal game for him to build his fitness match time after his hamstring injury.
"Sometimes these things are just meant to be it happened and yeah, hopefully, be back soon. "
Howe has guided United to the top three of the Premier League without Saint-Maximin after he last started a game back in August. Speaking about his stop-start campaign, Howe said: "We hope to get Maxi back to full fitness because he’s a game changer, a match winner.
"With him in the team tonight, the result is potentially different. All we can do is get it back and get it back to as robust as quickly as possible. "He was unwell after training."
