Dummett contract
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has suggested Paul Dummett has been offered a new contract. The long serving defender's existing deal expires at the end of the season but Howe indicated today he would be prepared to "keep" the Geordie Academy product.
Dummett has played has made just three appearances this season. He suffered calf problems earlier in the campaign but has been an unused sub in the last nine matches. Howe said: "I really like Paul. "I think behind the scenes he's had a consistent period where he's trained. I think that's what he needed. He's had various injuries.”

Bruno on fat loss
Bruno Guimaraes has revealed he is working with a nutritionist in order to get the best out of himself for Newcastle United. Toon boss Eddie Howe is currently advertising for a professional to help boost his backroom team in this area, but the Brazil international is already a few steps ahead of the average Premier League player.
And he has revealed he has lost weight in order to play at his best in the top-flight. Speaking to Globo in Brazil, Bruno said: "I'm literally thinner. "When we won the Olympics (Tokyo 2020 in the middle of 2021) I was playing with a fat percentage of 13%, 13.2%. "Today I have 11.7%.
"I've been working with a nutritionist, with personal, with my physical therapist, I'm very careful with food. Even because playing in the Premier League is different. The guys are strong and fast, it's no use just being smart, if you're not strong and fast, you can't play either."

Fraser injury
Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser is facing a second scan on his hamstring after missing the 2-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday. The Scotland international sustained the muscle injury in the victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at home recently.
He now looks set to be missing for the clash with Crystal Palace and potentially beyond. Eddie Howe said today: "The plan is to have another scan of his hamstring this week, just to see where the injury is. We had an initial scan, and two conflicting opinions, so we’re re-scanning it this week."
