Newcastle United target Goncalo Ramos has reportedly turned his nose up at a potential move to Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest. According to Record, (via SportsWitness), Steve Cooper's side made a bid in the region of £27million for the Benfica striker earlier this month.
The report claims the newly promoted side tried to sign the 21-year-old in January - with Ramos looking for further game time after falling out of favour under Jorge Jesus. However, Jesus' departure has paved the way for Ramos, who ended the 2021/22 campaign strongly and is now the number one choice to lead the line.
Record claim Benfica are holding out for a bid in the region of £37million for Ramos - with Newcastle United among the sides interested in his signature. PSG have also had the Portuguese youth international on their radar since June but Ramos would face more competition at the Ligue 1 side, than he would at Newcastle.

Reports earlier this week claim that Newcastle are preparing a €30million offer for the striker, who has impressed since the turn of the year. Ramos also scored against the Magpies in the Eusebio Cup game in pre-season last month.
The report claims Ramos is not keen on a move to the City Ground - having played Champions League football with the Eagles this season. Benfica are reportedly willing to listen to offers.
