Ambitious Newcastle United have landed Dundee United's goalkeeping coach Tony Caig.
Caig has left to take up a similar position with the big-spending Premier League club’s academy.
The 47-year-old had a spell at St James Park as a player and was keen to return to the North-east of England for family reasons.
It now means that United head coach Tam Courts and United on the lookout for a new goalkeeping coach for the run-in.
Caig has helped bring on Benjy Siegrist and Carljohan Eriksson, along with Trevor Carson who is currently on loan at Morecambe.
United appointed Caig in the summer after he left Livingston.
Dundee United have earned kudos for their displays this season and are eyeing a top six finish after a strong season under the stewardship of Courts.
