Newcastle United hope to clinch the signing of Dan Burn after having a bid accepted for the centre-back at the third attempt.
Sources at the Amex have confirmed United have had a £13million offer accepted with the 6ft 7in defender travelling north for a medical ahead of deadline day.
As reported yesterday on Chronicle Live the Magpies, who are now back in the UK after their trip to Saudi Arabia, have spent the weekend negotiating with Albion for the Geordie defender's signature.
But Newcastle are not set to stop there and plan moves for at least another player on deadline day.
A flurry of departures are also expected as Eddie Howe looks to cut down his squad.
For Burn though the move to Newcastle represents a dream a transfer to his hometown club.
The 29-year-old has benefited from United's failed chase for other centre-backs across Europe but won't complain.
Burn was rejected by United as a kid but has fought his back to the top level with the team he supported as a boy.
