Newcastle United will start the 2023/24 season with a home opener against Unai Emery's Aston Villa on August 12.
The clash against Emery's Europa Conference League qualifiers kicks off at 5.30pm and will be quickly followed by two even tougher tests for the Magpies. For Newcastle will then face a trip to the Pep Guardiola's treble winners Manchester City in the second weekend of the campaign before Liverpool head to St James' Park a week later.
United's fourth game of the new season will be away to another side that have qualified for Europe in the shape of Brighton & Hove Albion on September 2. September's fixtures also include an away day at newly promoted Sheffield United while another team on the up in Burnley head to Tyneside at the end of that month.

October's highlights include the clash at the London Stadium to face the newly crowned Europa Conference League champions West Ham while the long trip to Bournemouth follows in November. One of the quirks of the fixture list for Newcastle fans will be the away trip to Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
And the Magpies will head to the 10,356 capacity venue just two days before Christmas on December 23. Newcastle's other festive fixtures see Nottingham Forest head to St James' on Boxing Day while the other game over the holidays will be away to Liverpool on December 30 to see the year out.
Newcastle's first game of 2024 will be at home to Guardiola's City which is slated for January 13. January also features a midweek away game at Villa on the penultimate day of the month.
The Magpies end the season with an away day in London at Brentford on May 19 with the last home game taking place a week earlier against Brighton.
