Inside story of 21/22 season told
Newcastle United finished their season with a 2-1 victory away at Burnley, which was enough to see them finish in 11th place in the Premier League. That finish is all the more remarkable when considering there were serious relegation worries until late January, when the club began a run of form which saw them storm up the table under Eddie Howe.

Kieran Trippier discusses ruthless mentality Newcastle United must take into next season
Kieran Trippier played 90 minutes for the first time in months as the Magpies beat Burnley on the final day of the Premier League season. As an ex-Burnley player, some may have thought the full-back wouldn't want to see his former team drop into the Championship but Trippier was in no mood to show mercy as he felt the team needed to sign off the season in the way they would play going forwards:
"It’s a great way to sign off the season. We knew what Burnley were fighting for and obviously coming to Turf Moor is a difficult place, I was here for four years so I know what it’s like.
"You’ve got to give Burnley a lot of credit, they were fighting for everything but the way we defended we deserved the result even though Burnley may feel they deserved the result as well. I’m sorry that Burnley went down but this is football, we needed to try and get into the top 10."
