Newcastle United defender Matt Targett reveals his aims for the rest of the season

Matt Targett, one of the players who has lifted Newcastle United’s fortunes since January, says he is aiming for a top ten finish come May.

Currently on loan from Aston Villa, Matt Targett has established himself as the first-choice left-back at Newcastle United since signing in January. As a result, many fans believe a permanent offer should be made, and his chances will certainly be helped if the Magpies can finish in the top 10.

The 26-year-old had another excellent game in the 3-0 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road, not just bringing balance to the defence, but also shifting the ball forward. Afterwards he said Newcastle United will not take their feet off the gas in the hunt for league position.
