Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley was spotted in the stands at Stamford Bridge for today's clash between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. The Ripon financier and husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi spoke with Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali before the big clash in the capital just 24 hours after the Newcastle owners had taken in the 0-0 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on the south coast.
Whether Staveley's appearance at Chelsea could lead to any potential breakthroughs on the recruitment front remains to be seen. But the Newcastle director played a big part in both the winter window and this summer's market after taking part in discussions to sign the likes of Sven Botman and Matt Targett.
The Magpies have been linked with Chelsea stars Armando Broja and Callum Hudson-Odoi. The duo share the same agent and both names have been part of conversations on possible loan deals for Newcastle this summer.
When asked about Hudson-Odoi, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said: "At the moment, he is our player, and he needs to fight, fight, fight. I have nothing more to say."
