Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.
Tierney update
Kieran Tierney has long been mooted as Eddie Howe's preferred target as he looks to add an attacking left-back to his squad. The Scotland international has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal, and reports suggest he looks set to leave this summer as the Gunners look to finance moves elsewhere.
Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest in Tierney, with Unai Emery keen to be reunited with the defender. However, Football Insider insist Newcastle remain 'strong favourites' to land the left-back in the upcoming window.
The Magpies are yet to make their move for the 26-year-old, with recent reports suggesting his injury record has led to concerns over the price tag. Football Insider insist an official approach is forthcoming with the window set to formally open on June 14.

Kone and Thuram claim
Liverpool and Newcastle are both interested in midfielders Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram, according to football transfer journalist Jacques Talbot. He told the Empire of the Kop: "Liverpool and Newcastle are at the table. I think Newcastle’s interest in Kone is quite heavy. For Kone, he’s certainly one Liverpool admire.
"When you report talks, it’s quite common for preliminary meetings with players and agents to take place. It doesn’t give a huge indication of interest, it gives an indication of interest but not to a huge degree.
"Kone is certainly one of seven targets I’d say and the sounds are about Thuram being further ahead, with the player’s father, in particular, pushing for the move. The last thing I heard was that things have advanced.
"Again, Newcastle are in for him as well, but for some reason the club’s recruitment is pushing for Premier League players."
