Michael Dawson expects James Maddison to leave Leicester City in the future and believes Newcastle United would be the 'right fit' for the England international.
Newcastle had two bids rejected for Maddison last summer, while Brendan Rodgers insists that the Foxes want to keep hold of the attacking midfielder.
Nevertheless, Maddison has continued to be linked with the Magpies, as he heads into the final 18 months of his contract at the King Power Stadium. Maddison has notched seven goals and four assists in 13 appearances in the Premier League this term, but didn't feature in Leicester's 3-0 defeat against Newcastle on Boxing Day due to a knee injury.

Dawson believes keeping hold of Maddison could be a financial risk for Leicester, especially considering the Foxes could lose him on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Dawson told Sky Sports: “Yes, I do [think that Maddison will be at Leicester at the end of January]. Will he be a Leicester City player next season? I am not too sure. I think Brendan Rodgers will want to keep him.
"What he does and everything he does is positive. He makes the right decision more often than the wrong decision. He creates chances.
“You talk about [Kevin] de Bruyne. I am not putting him in the same bracket. But he is their man – he is that good. I am surprised we didn’t see him [getting minutes] for England [at the World Cup] because he is a game-changer. I think he is magnificent.
“If Leicester lose him, it’s a massive loss. I think eventually he will move on and Leicester fans won’t want to hear that. Brendan Rodgers won’t want to hear that. But he didn’t sign a new contract. Newcastle, I can see that being the right fit.”
