Newcastle supporters disappointed as Aston Villa agree fee for Diego Carlos

Newcastle United supporters have taken to social media to express their disappointment after Aston Villa reached an agreement for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos. The Magpies had a number of approaches for the Brazilian knocked back in the January transfer window.

Reports claim the La Liga side kept moving the goal posts and Eddie Howe's side were not prepared to pay over the top for players, despite being the richest club in world football. Steven Gerrard's side have wasted no time in securing their top targets this summer.

Villa have already announced the signing of Boubacar Kamara from Marseille, another player who was linked with a move to St. James' Park. Newcastle are yet to make any breakthrough's in the transfer market this summer.
