Former Newcastle United midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes Joe Willock has been a 'different class' this season and deserves an England call-up. The 23-year-old has not hidden away from his ambitions to earn a senior call-up for the Three Lions, although injury ruled him out of contention for Gareth Southgate's latest squad.
Willock has emerged as an integral member of the Magpies' midfield under Eddie Howe, often dovetailing with Joelinton on the left flank. The former Arsenal star recently bemoaned his lack of goals, but is confident he is a far better player than when he arrived on an initial loan deal during the 2021/22 season.
Willock missed Monday night's draw with Leicester City which confirmed Newcastle's place in the Champions League next season. The hosts dominated the contest but could not find a way through a dogged display from the Foxes, and Hamann believes the most recent performance proved just how important the injured midfielder is to the Magpies.

He told Casinos En Ligne: "Joe Willock deserved an England call up, and with his unfortunate injury against Leicester, you could tell Newcastle were missing him for the rest of that game. Willock has been a different class this season and only at the age of 23-years-old. England has to give him a go, he has so much talent that would benefit that team."
