Newcastle United star Joelinton rewarded junior football star Lewis Savage for his excellent season with a meeting at the club's Benton base recently.
The seven-year-old, who plays for Cramlington Town Milan Under-7s, has netted an extraordinary 124 goals this season - with 95 of them coming as a six-year-old. Lewis, who only started playing one year ago, was called up to be a ball boy for the recent Premier League game against Liverpool - but wanted to focus on a football tournament in Filey, a decision that will impress Toon head coach Eddie Howe as he is keen to see players concentrate on their development!
Lewis' dad Gareth told Chronicle Live: "Lewis finished his season two weekends ago with 124 goals as an under-7 playing under-8s with 95 those goals as a six-year-old.

"He was pulled in for ballboy last weekend for the Liverpool match however he had a tournament down Filey and didn’t want to miss his own football and he got a little mention in the match day programme plus the chance to meet Joelinton."
Gareth also spoke about how Lewis got involved in the game and said: "My wife then got an invite for Lewis to try a soccer club in May 2021 then forming a u7s team to play in the Northumberland league at Cochrane Park, he took to football like a duck on water.
"I have never been a football fan or seen enjoyment in football for the past 30 years, I've always been a boxing fan. "I have fallen in love with the sport through Lewis and we haven’t missed a home Newcastle match bar Liverpool since September last year.
"The enjoyment we have watching football is unbelievable and he just loves it. He’s a humble lad who never celebrated from his first to his 100th, and over this season we have seen him scoring from a direct corner, free kick from the half way line."
