Newcastle speed dating agency has shortage of men over 40 for Valentine's event with 'dozens' of women on waiting list

A Newcastle dating agency is looking for single men over 40 to take part in a fun night of speed dating this Valentine's Day.

NCL Dates says it has "dozens of women over 40 waiting for dates" as it appeals for more men in the age group to sign up for a speed dating event at Newcastle's As You Like It on Sunday, February 12. The dating service, founded by Ben Mellor from Gateshead, helps singletons to meet their perfect match in real life rather than on dating apps like Tinder.

Since its launch last year, the agency has hosted speed dating events for more than 1,000 singletons at Newcastle city centre venues including Market Shaker and Holy Hobo. And now it is getting ready to hold an action-packed series of Valentine's nights after seeing a surge in demand - with a number of events proving to be a sell-out.
