Newcastle model agency owner Terry Costello is putting the city on the international fashion map as he works with major brands ranging from Burberry to Barbour.
But while he's conquering the fashion world from his native North East, the 25-year-old owner of Savalas Models, based , is gearing up for his next challenge. And it looks set to be as fast-paced as the modelling industry.
That's because Terry is taking on the Great North Run this September to raise funds for St Oswald's Hospice in memory of his dad, Terry Costello (senior). The North Shields entrepreneur tragically lost his dad to an aggressive form of kidney cancer in 2014, shortly after launching his business.
Terry (senior) battled the illness for just four months before he sadly died aged just 51. The talented tiler was cared for by St Oswald's Hospice in Gosforth during his last few days.
Now Terry, who runs his model agency from High Bridge in the city centre, is on a mission to raise £350 for the charity as he takes on the half marathon for a second time on September 11.
"As an 18-year-old, I was not ready to lose my dad," Terry said.
"It was a time in my life when I needed him around the most, but I know he did everything he could to fight this terrible disease. My dad spent the last remaining days of his life at the hospice.
"No one wants to see their parent or loved ones be admitted to a hospice but the community behind the hospice is just incredible. I will never forget the care they gave to my dad and the support they gave me and my family.
"It is something I will always remember and appreciate."
Terry has already raised £80 but hopes to reach his target before taking on the challenge so that the hospice can continue its vital work.
He added: "Please help me raise as much money as possible to help the hospice continue to be there for families like mine."
