Newcastle, home to two universities, is the second cheapest city in the UK for students, a new survey has revealed.
The analysis was based on the average price of student accommodation as well as the weekly spend on beer, cocktails, a fast food meal and a taxi fare.
It saw both Newcastle and Northumbria universities with the same weekly total of £161.
