Callum Wilson has backed team-mate Bruno Guimaraes to be even better next season after the 'unbelievable talent' made a stunning start to his Newcastle United career.
Eddie Howe was conscious of easing Bruno into life in the Premier League, where the game is even quicker and more physical than what the midfielder was used to in France, but the 24-year-old eventually became one of the first names on the team sheet following his mid-season move from Lyon. As well as scoring a stunning backheel volley on his full debut, at Southampton, in March, Bruno popped up with another four goals against Leicester City, Norwich City and Arsenal and also laid on a crucial assist for Miguel Almiron's winner versus Crystal Palace.
Perhaps it is not a coincidence that, when Bruno stepped up, Newcastle won all of those games and the Brazil international's contributions helped the Magpies secure a whopping 15 points as Eddie Howe's side pulled away from danger. Remarkably, only Wilson ended up scoring more goals for Newcastle this season than Bruno and the striker has no doubt that there is even more to come from the £33.5m signing next year.

"The best new signing and cannot even be questioned is Bruno Guimaraes for Newcastle," Wilson told the Footballer's Football Podcast. "Honestly, this guy has come in, he's an absolute baller, an unbelievable talent.
"Coming in January, relegation battle, Brazilian international, £40 million, £30 million or however much it was, he had a lot of interest from bigger clubs and stuff. To take the gamble to come to a team that potentially could have been in the Championship next season - his international career could have been on the line - I have to take my hat off to him.
"I think next year he's going to be someone to watch out for. He's a talent and he's still young so he's got time on his side. He's settled into the team, into the football in England and the Premier League, nicely, so I think next year he will be balling out for us and hopefully getting some assists for me."
