Three cities have been named as the most likely to see a white Christmas this year - and Newcastle is one of them.
Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle are all 3/1 favourites to see snow on December 25, according to Gambling.com. The site has launched its white Christmas 2022 page where these three cities are current favourites to see snow on Christmas day.
They are followed by Belfast, Manchester and Leeds, with odds of 4/1, and then Liverpool, Birmingham and Crawley at 5/1. The page will be regularly updated as weather patterns change in the run-up to Christmas.

Joe Short, Gambling.com analyst, said: "Betting sites believe the odds of a white Christmas in 2022 are less likely than they were last year as forecasters predict wet and windy weather ahead for the United Kingdom.
"There’s nothing more magical than waking up on Christmas day to see a smattering of snow falling outside your window. But Gambling.com can reveal that the UK could miss out on snowfall this year, after parts of Scotland were treated to the white stuff in 2021.
"The slight reduction in the chances of a white Christmas this year is perhaps understandable. The UK endured an uncharacteristically hot summer and has been treated to a deluge of rain in October, which has caused flash floods in the south east. High pressure is expected to eventually envelop the country at the beginning of winter but the Met Office has warned that might not last long, with a return to wet and windy conditions in January."
The longest Met Office forecast currently runs up to December 6 and reads: "A high-pressure system looks likely to settle to the west or northwest of the UK towards the end of the month, bringing more extended periods of dry and settled weather with lighter winds. Rain and stronger winds could still be experienced, especially in the far northwest.
"Into December, eastern areas could see a return to wetter conditions, with occasional frost and overnight fog, that could be slow to clear. Temperatures trending towards average for the season, perhaps feeling rather cold."
For now, the weather in the North East is expected to remain unsettled. The Met Office five-day forecast is below.
North East England weather forecast
Tuesday:
Perhaps some lingering rain on coasts in the south early on, but soon clearing. Otherwise fine with sunny spells at first, giving way to a mix of sunshine and blustery showers. Showers may be heavy and thundery at times. Windy. Maximum temperature 13C.
Tuesday night:
Showers early on may be heavy and thundery, slowly easing through the evening. Perhaps the odd shower lingering overnight on western hills, but otherwise becoming dry with clear spells. Breezy. Minimum temperature 5C.
Wednesday:
Sunshine and showers developing again. While these will be less frequent than Tuesday, they could still be heavy with thunder. Becoming mostly dry with sunny spells through the afternoon. Breezy. Maximum temperature 12C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Often cloudy and windy to end the week, with periods of rain and gales. Becoming dry with sunny spells and lighter winds on Saturday. Temperatures above average, perhaps exceptionally mild.
