Newcastle United are set to revive their attempts to sign Sven Botman this summer and have been handed a timely boost with AC Milan playing down a move for the Lille defender.
Botman, 22, was a top target for the Magpies during the January transfer window but stayed stayed in France after Lille refused to budge on their £46m asking price.
Speculation has been rife in recent months that AC Milan had stolen a march on Newcastle by agreeing a deal for the Dutchman. However, figures at the Italian club now don't seem too confident about a summer move.
