Newcastle United could arm AC Milan with the funds to prepare a move for Christian Pulisic this summer.
Pulisic looks set to leave Chelsea soon with the United States of America ace seeing his contract at Stamford Bridge run out at the end of the season. It has been reported that the Blues' Premier League rivals Newcastle and Manchester United have both been approached about a move for the 24 year-old.
There is interest from Italy, too, with AC Milan, Napoli and Juventus all keen on the player while a move back to the US could appeal ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America. Newcastle are set to make a serious statement with a move for the Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali, with a £60 million move in the offing for the Italy star.
And that could present Milan with the finance to pull off a move for Pulisic, who is set to be made available by Chelsea this summer as the club look to move on fringe players. With Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy all set to move on, Pulisic will likely join the trio in heading for an exit at Stamford Bridge.
Pulisic starred on international duty for the USMNT, playing a key role in their CONCACAF Nations League win against Canada and in the semi-final defeat of Mexico. He played all-but-one minute of the USMNT's internationals this month but was only afforded 33 minutes of Premier League action for the final seven games of the season by Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard.
"It's been a tough season for me personally and for our team at club level," Pulisic said while on international duty. "I thought it was a great couple years and the last couple years just haven’t gone at all how I've planned them to be.
"And right now my focus is obviously here with the national team. I'm just excited to get back playing and just enjoy myself and do what I love to do out on the field.
"And from there, this summer, we're obviously going to have to see what happens."
Who should Chelsea keep or sell this summer...?
