Guimaraes medical passed
Newcastle target Bruno Guimaraes has passed his medical ahead of £30million move from Lyon, ChronicleLive understands.
The Magpies' head of recruitment Steve Nickson has flown out to Brazil to complete the final formalities of the 24-year-old's transfer, with a medical taking place in Belo Horizonte.
He is expected to be announced as the club's third January signing in due course.
Fresh bid for Burn rejected
Newcastle have had an improved £10million bid for Brighton’s Dan Burn rejected.
The Blyth-born defender is on the Magpies’ radar as the new owners look to reinforce a fragile backline.
A previous bid of £7million had been knocked back, with the Seagulls unwilling to lose their centre-back on the cheap this month.

Promising Toon talent Joe White has signed for Hartlepool on loan, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old has impressed for Elliot Dickman’s young Magpies but sees playing first-team professional football as the next step in his career.
