But now these Newcastle entrepreneurs are seeing their product stocked by huge high street retailers and snapped up by customers as many look to save money this winter.
Harvey Singh and Ruhel Uddin, both 29, have created a wearable thick fleece blanket, known as the Ony, complete with a hood and large pocket. And while they expected sales to do well in their first year, they never predicted how popular the product was about to become.
